Recipient of the 2016 EASA Award
Anthony Sieracki with the 2016 EASA Award.
Although he has retired from full time work, Anthony Sieracki continues to stay busy on a part-time basis doing what he loves most – working with his hands in an EASA service center as a parts cleaner, mechanic and winder. Besides that, Mr. Sieracki also serves as the shop and plant manager.
Mr. Sieracki started his career in the electrical apparatus industry in 1976, – some 40 years ago – at Deckert Electric Commonwealth Service Sales. In 1986, Mr. Sieracki went to work for Spina Electric Company in Warren, Michigan, where he continues today on a part-time basis.
Practically from the beginning of his career, he was actively involved in EASA at the chapter level where he started as a director, and eventually became president of the Great Lakes Chapter. He remained an active volunteer in the chapter throughout his career. On the International level, Mr. Sieracki served on EASA’s Technical Education Committee and as a convention volunteer.
While he gave many years of service to EASA and its members, he always said he got so much more in return – such as the knowledge and friendships he still treasures today.
Mr. Sieracki's contributions to our industry are extensive and impressive. This commitment is evident in the nominating letters we received.
For instance, one letter read:
His U.S. Navy career, especially in the reserves, allowed him to commit two weeks a year - for more than 8 years - training personnel on how to rewind motors. He was a great asset to the Navy. He’s a rare individual who deserves recognition for his devotion to our industry.
Another read:
He has been instrumental in organizing chapter meetings, bringing important presentations to our members and keeping our fundraising efforts vibrant with a series of golf and member outings designed to foster camaraderie and networking. He exemplifies what it means to be an EASA member. He is always willing to help any other member with whatever need they might have. For example, he provides technical data, loans copper wire, extends credit when needed, and overall advice on business operations and motor repair techniques.
And finally:
He has always been enthusiastic about his EASA involvement and never ceases to remind us of the many, many programs and benefits available to us. Despite being a competitor, he has always been my ‘go to’ person for so many resources – such as where to find a part or who can handle a certain type job. He has always been incredibly generous with his information and knowledge.
