Partial discharge is a common aging mechanism in medium voltage stator windings. The significant presence of partial discharge in a winding may be an acceptance criterion after manufacture. It can also be a condition monitoring tool used to assess the health of windings.  This discussion will include:

  • What partial discharge is
  • How partial discharge damages insulation
  • Some test methods

Target Audience: This webinar is intended for all personnel who test or rewind medium voltage stators.
