Sleeve bearings have many different names such as white metal, plain or babbitt bearings.  The process of fitting a sleeve bearing is in danger of becoming a lost art.  This webinar describes the best practice for fitting sleeve bearings in an electric motor.  Topics covered include:

  • Evaluation of the shaft journal and babbitt condition
  • Preparing to fit the sleeve bearing
  • Developing the wear pattern
  • Tools and techniques for scraping the bearing
  • Determining when a bearing is sufficiently fitted

This webinar is intended for machinists, service center technicians, field service technicians and shop supervisors.
