Every shop manager or winding supervisor I talk to says they need experienced winders. The number of older experienced winders in the work force is becoming smaller by the day. Many younger inexperienced winders lack a mentor to show them parts of the winding process that can make the job easier. This webinar will focus on tips that can help a winder with some ideas to make the job easier and not compromise the quality of the machine.

Topics include:

  • How to keep from pulling phase paper out during lacing
  • Using a flat separator versus a wedge
  • Special phase paper shape for two pole windings
  • Cover half and tape phase paper to separator
  • Reinforcing the ends of slot liner
  • Form the end turns as you install the coils
  • Angle gages to get the correct amount of end turn flare
  • Important of trimming the phase paper neatly and specifically
  • Non-metallic tools for random coil windings
  • How to lay the connections in neatly and why
