Electric motor efficiency is heavily dependent on internal losses and understanding them is key to proving the value of a quality repair. This webinar will walk through the electric motor efficiency equation to highlight exactly why these losses matter. We will break down the different types of motor losses and explore how maintaining or reducing them directly benefits the end-user by lowering electricity bills and improving equipment reliability. We will also touch on the thermal Arrhenius equation to show how reducing operating temperature extends insulation life. Finally, the session will cover how to verify your work and prove efficiency through proper testing procedures.

Topic includes:

  • The electric motor efficiency equation and the critical role of motor losses
  • Identification and breakdown of the various types of losses
  • The relationship between losses, operating temperature, insulation life, and overall reliability
  • Financial impacts and energy savings for the end-user
  • Practical testing methods: Core loss testing, no-load testing, and full-load testing

Target Audience: This webinar is intended for EASA members and electric motor repair workshop personnel including Test Bay Technicians and Quality Control, Estimators, Customer Service, Engineers, and Management.
