Guide to Disinfecting Electrical Equipment

NEMA logoNEMA has developed specific guidance on how to maintain cleanliness while preserving the functionality and integrity of electrical equipment. Common disinfecting methods like fogging can damage electrical equipment and pose a safety hazard. To clean and disinfect electrical equipment, first, follow the manufacturer’s recommended cleaning methods. If you have a specific question, contact the electrical manufacturer for guidance.

SBA Releases PPP Loan Forgiveness Application
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has released a loan forgiveness application that borrowers must complete to have their Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan forgiven. The form includes detailed information about the eligible cost for forgiveness and instructions for calculating those costs, as well as a list of documents to submit and documents that must be maintained but are not required for submission. Fourth Survey Conducted, Demonstrates COVID-19 Impact on EASA, Other Associations

Industry Insights, a research company, conducted four surveys with members from several associations, including EASA, regarding the impact of the COVID-19 health crisis. The first survey took place in mid-March, the second in early April, the third in late April and the fourth in late May. 

The video below showcases an overview of some answers from the May survey. Member answers are first compared to the overall responses, then to EASA member responses from the first and second surveys. The password-protected Excel workbooks allow you to dive deeper into the comprehensive data.

OSHA Provides Guidance for COVID-19

OSHA COVID-19 booklet

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration established a hub of news, updates and information regarding the safety aspects of dealing with COVID-19 in the workplace. As more information becomes available regarding the virus, resources are regularly updated and posted.

OSHA COVID-19 INFO

OSHA developed this COVID-19 planning guidance based on traditional infection prevention and industrial hygiene practices. It focuses on the need for employers to implement engineering, administrative, and work practice controls and personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as considerations for doing so.

This guidance is intended for planning purposes. Employers and workers should use this planning guidance to help identify risk levels in workplace settings and to determine any appropriate control measures to implement.
